Kenn Bisio

Kenn Bisio, photojournalist, and professor at Metropolitan State College, spoke to my Intro to Journalism, and he was very inspiring. He talked about his experiences, he gave us tips, but the biggest thing I got out of his talk was when he asked, "Why do you do what you do?"
He asked this question over and over again.

"Why do you do what you do?"

"Why do you do what you do?"

"Why do you do what you do?"

"WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?"

Then it dawned on me, huh, why do I do what I do? I thought well I go to school to get an education, I work to earn money, I shower to be clean, I eat to live, etc. Then the deeper questions come, why do I act the way I do, why do I think this way, why do I judge people, why am I me. I am who I am based on my story. Everyone has a different story, so every individual is different. I have a better understanding of myself after pondering this question.

So ask yourself WHY do YOU do what you do ?

I promise you'll learn a lot more about yourself!

  1. Today I will ask myself, "why do YOU do what you do?" I like it! Good luck at the Metropolitan paper.

  2. I like the way you think!! If I began to ask myself that question before I dropped out of college back in 2005 then I would've graduated about 1 to 2 years ago!!

  3. I loved having Bisio visit my class! He has been a detrimental part to my college experience, he'll stir up a passion inside of you no matter what you want to do!
